IMEEM and PLUG Announce "What's On Your PLUG Playlist?" Contest

THE 2007 PLUG INDEPENDENT MUSIC AWARDS PRESENT
-Entrants will create an audio playlist consisting of songs from PLUG-nominated artists.
-Submissions will be accepted until 12:00pm ET on Feb. 7, 2007. An entry will consist of a PLUG playlist along with an explanation on why the playlist rocks.
-Once their playlist has been submitted, entrants are encouraged to share their playlist with the community by embedding it on other sites and having their friends do the same as well. Fans are encouraged to check out the entries and rate/comment on them.


GRAND PRIZE
One grand prize winner will receive:
-Trip for two to the 2007 PLUG Independent Music Awards in New York City
-Flights to and from New York
-One night hotel stay
-2 VIP passes to the awards show

This year's show will be hosted by David Cross and will feature performances by Stephen Malkmus And The Jicks, Silversun Pickups, El-P, Deerhoof & Tokyo Police Club.

Amanda Visell solo show at Gallery 1988

Hey all. What better way to ring in the New Year then with an incredible solo show from one of LA's most popular artists, Amanda Visell and a live rag time band!

Thursday night, January 4th, from 7-10 PM for the opening reception of "Switcheroo," which is promised to be an event worth seeing. Party down to some rag time music from a 3 piece band and join us for cookies when we unveil one of the most prolific solo exhibits we've ever shown. In addition to the paintings on the walls, be ready for some wood sculptures, new prints, t-shirts, monsters and babies, all from Amanda Visell. This exhibit will run until January 18th.

MUDluscious Releases New Record

Much like the city of Los Angeles it's self, MUDluscious brings a high-energy fusion of sound, style and culture in and of it's own. With elements of hip-hop, reggae, jazz, funk, and soul, the members of this group could easily take a whole day to describe what makes their sound so unique, but the bottom line is you just have to hear it for yourself.
The group was originally formed between the partnership of two musicians. MUD, a singer/songwriter/musician, and Matter, a producer/DJ/musician. After months of recording tracks at their homes, the two decided that it was time to form a band. A month or two later, the group was fortunate enough to score some studio time at Cherokee Studios. Now after a year of gigging and recording, MUDluscious along with MUTENUS Records and Bagavagabonds Entertainment, are proud to present their first full-length record entitled: 'Songs from the Candylandfill'.
It features tracks with special appearances by Animatronics, Inverse, and The Conquistadors. As well as a killa roster of underground MC's including: Noah King, A-Dub, Tunji, Franklin Grimes, Toby, and Nieve.
